Adam Hayes

Designer + Branding

Superpower | Immersive Imaginer // Adam can see into his mind's eye in extreme detail.

Adam’s path to 45 Architecture is by his own admission, unconventional. Trained in both architecture and art, he cut his teeth as a graphic designer working for signage design companies in both Washington and California.

His knack for visual storytelling caught the attention of 45 Architecture who hired Adam to work on signage and branding as well as various architectural projects, including Wildlands. When designing signage, he expresses his unique creative language through wayfinding, through project identity, and through that extra something special that connects people to a place and keeps them coming back to it. His process involves examining the architectural themes and developing a signage vocabulary that is expanded throughout the project. The arrival experience of entering the building can be an especially powerful moment.

Adam grew up an avid reader, inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and is currently writing the first draft of his own fiction book. Design Inspiration | Snøhetta, Fearon Hay, RSM Design Architectural Style | Critical regionalism, modernism, complementary architecture, high design Current Read | Where Good Ideas Come From by Steven Johnson
