    45 Architecture is seeking an Architect Intern. This is an in-person, paid Summer internship, 40 hours a week beginning for 12 weeks, with the potential to extend beyond Summer.

Do you possess a Bachelor of Architecture (5 Year) or the foreign equivalent?
Do you have experience assisting in all phases of architectural design, including new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, and unit plans?
Do you have experience setting up meetings with client representatives for presentations and workshops, analysis of goals and needs, developing programmed space spreadsheets & narrative summaries?
Do you have experience gathering information on past projects, content development, quick turnaround concept development, 3D digital modeling, along with presentation and proposal design and formatting?
Do you have experience collaborating on concept alternatives, studies, and development requiring 3D digital massing, floor plans, space plans, building elevations, sections and perspectives?
Do you have experience providing alternative site design studies requiring site plans, site sections, 3D digital massing and physical site modeling?
Do you have experience developing design and construction drawings and documents for all phases, schematic design through construction documents including architectural plans, elevations using 2D/3D modeling software?
Do you have experience researching and drafting details and schedules specifically designed for a given project in preparations for construction?
Do you have experience coordinating with the contractor and owner to make sure the overall design intent is achieved throughout the construction process?
Do you have experience with executing site visits, field observation and meetings to review the progress of construction?
Do you have experience coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), lighting, landscape, code, traffic, parking, kitchen, zoning, signage, acoustic, security, curtain wall, façade maintenance, special systems, etc?
Do you have experience applying architectural principles to review all related shop drawings, samples, mockups, and cut sheets on materials & equipment?
Do you have experience reviewing structural construction for architectural coordination, HVAC system layout and installation, installation of lighting fixtures, and installation of electrical equipment?
Do you have experience assisting project managers or architects in project closeout, such as final inspections, preparation of punch list, record drawings, and post occupancy review?
Do you have experience supporting the project team in development of the design and production, organization, coordination, thoroughness, and accuracy of the virtual building model and all documents in the drawing set?

About the Role

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Support Principals, Directors, Job Captains, and Project Managers with design and project duties, including but not limited to: drafting, permitting, crafting renderings, meeting notes and distribution

  • Communicate with internal project team members to ensure deadlines are met and duties completed

  • Assist with reviewing, researching, and preparing documents, contracts, code, and proposals

  • General office support to foster a collaborative and successful company


 Qualifications / Skills / Experience: 

  • Students completing 4th year or Graduate Architecture Programs 

  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional architecture firm is preferred but not required 

  • Experience with Revit, Adobe Suite, and Lumion are preferred  

  • Excellent verbal, written, collaborative, and graphic communication skills  

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines  

  • Desire to learn and work as a team  

  • Willingness to help support a growing company and share ideas to foster success across multiple departments
