Cattle Drive Residence
Clyde Park, MT
Year:
2024
Square Feet:
When the owners of this property—a retired couple who found love later in life—pictured building their dream home, they knew it had to be a peaceful retreat on his family property in Clyde Park, Montana. This land has been in the family for over 50 years and their deep reverence for it informed how the built form would respond to the natural surroundings. Cattle Drive sits on both single and split levels, flowing between a private wing, a common wing with great room, and a guest wing—all of which enjoy views of the Crazy Mountains and a nearby aspen grove and creek. The design plays with nature’s shadow and light, while the low slope vaulted ceiling creates an intimate scale. A palette of sand and honey helps give Cattle Drive a sense it grew directly up from the sagebrush.
