Big Sky Bravery was founded in 2015 to provide post-deployment decompression programs for active-duty Special Operations Forces in Montana’s restorative environment. For years, the nonprofit has relied on private donations and the generosity of local hosts to house service members during their weeklong stays. Now, Big Sky Bravery is taking a significant step forward by creating a permanent home for its mission.
On an 85-acre ranch in Big Sky, the organization is developing a purpose-built compound designed in partnership with 45 Architecture & Interiors. The campus will feature five structures: an 11,000 SF main lodge for activities and task force programs, a family cabin, a caretaker’s cabin, a recreation barn, and a cabin for BSB alumni. Every element of the design is intentional, fostering recovery, reflection, and the sense of freedom these service members dedicate their lives to protecting. Construction is scheduled for completion in August 2027, with programs set to launch on the new campus by December of that year.
