Superpower |  X-RAY Vision: Able to see right through BS and fakery. Within a mile radius, Foster can spot anything that is: out of level, out of plumb, or not straight. His eyes and his mind are on details.

Foster, a recent transplant to the Bozeman area, grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and feels very much at home here.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies, as well as his Master of Architecture degrees at Washington State University in Pullman, while raising three girls and a menagerie of dogs, cats, birds, small mammals, and tropical fish.
An avid outdoor enthusiast and photographer, Foster enjoys exploring the Montana wilderness, and an occasional camping / kayaking trip, or just taking his dog fishing in the evenings.
Foster brings to 45 Architecture a lifetime of “hands-on” experience. Having worked as a finish carpenter, cabinet maker, furniture maker, general contractor, he has been immersed in the world of custom residential craftsmanship.

Project Experience | Foster has worked as an architectural project manager on various hospitality endeavors: restaurants, modified prototype hotels in Portland, Oregon, and multi-family residential projects. He brings an emphasis of high-quality craftsmanship and detailing larger projects, and to our clients. Whenever possible, he strives to create authentic experiential places.

Design Inspiration | Louis Kahn, Peter Zumthor, Olson Kundig

Architectural Style | For commercial works, I am inspired by (successful) modern interpretations of architecture from another time. For residential works, I aspire to create contemporary expressions of “place.”
